MAC FAIR ARTISAN AGREEMENT

It is understood that by completing the online application form, you have read and agree to the following:

Date:           Saturday, December 7, 2019.  Doors open for customers at 10:00.

Location:      Immaculata High School, 140 Main Street, Ottawa, K1S 5P4         (613) 237-2001

Hours:           10:00 - 3:00

Artisan Criteria:
We pride ourselves on presenting a wide variety of unusual, original, quality hand-made crafts.  Interested artists are invited to fill out an application and submit to this juried show.  A selection committee will look over your photos and will then make their choice based on originality, creativity, marketability, general appeal, and quality of craft as well as ensuring a balance of categories of crafts.

Confirmatation of Acceptance:
This is a juried show.  Applications, logos, and photos are due by May 1 each year as jurying will happen in early May.  Final decisions will be made by the end of May and emails to successful candidates will go out at that time.

Causes:
This craft fair is a social justice and a fundraising endeavour on the part of Immaculata.  We raise funds for various groups and projects that assist those who have so much less.

Each year, we support the following two initiatives, along with other extra-curricular groups, teams, events and activities within the school.
-our Christmas Hamper Program, which provides nutritious food to hungry families within our school community.  A portion of the money from the door also goes to our Student Council for programming school events.
-DREAM (Dominican Republic Experience at MAC) Team fundraising - our social justice experience program.  Money raised goes to initiatives spearheaded by the Grey Sisters in and around the town of Consuelo, Dominican Republic.

Tables:
6 foot tables with two chairs for $90 if you donate a prize (retail value $20) to the raffle table, and $100 if you do not.
If you do not wish the table, we still charge the same amount for the space.  There is about 1 foot between tables.

Electrical Outlets:
Please note that power outlets are very limited.  You may request it if absolutely necessary but we may not be able to accommodate everyone.  You will need to provide your own extension cord.

Arrival:
All Artisans are expected to arrive between 8:15 am and 9:00 am, depending on the time you need to set up.  Please do not arrive after 9:00 am as you need to register, set up, locate washrooms, etc.
All Artisans are expected to have their tables set up by 9:30.  We will have a short meeting and then this is the vendor shopping spree time.
Your first coffee is on us, and we plan to have it ready to do for 9:30.  We are working toward our Eco-School certification, so please bring your own mug to help us cut down our use of disposables.

Unloading Vehicles:
-We will have teams of students who will unload your vehicle for you and bring your items to your table.
Because we recently had a new, professional track installed, we can no longer have cars on the track.  Details for unloading will be provided closer to the event date.  Rest assured, we will still have our elves doing the heavy lifting for you!

Arrival at Table:
When you get to your table, you will see that there is a number on it.  Please keep this visible throughout the day so that we can find you easily.

During the sale :
Please note that bulletin boards, extension cords, tablecloths, etc... are not provided.
Artisans must NOT infringe on their neighbour’s space.
There will be two student volunteers serving as Artisan Relief.  They will be wearing BRIGHT yellow shirts.  Their job will be to circulate around the rooms and supervise your table for you if you need to grab a coffee, take a bathroom break, or do some shopping.  Don't be shy to ask!

Departure:
All artisans are expected to maintain their tables for the duration of the Craft Fair and not to pack up their goods or leave prior to 3:00 p.m.
Our student volunteers will be available to help you bring items back out to your vehicle.

Collaborative Marketing/Advertising:
We always work very hard on our marketing to ensure a strong turnout for our events.  Some features include: tv, radio, local newspaper and social media coverage, our huge sign out on Main Street for the month leading to event day, lawn signs throughout the neighbourhood, car magnets to be driven around by school staff, 5000 VIP passes to be distributed to local schools & businesses.

Clearly, it is in everyone's best interest to spread the word and we need your help to make this event as big a success as possible.  We want to see this place busting at the seams with customers wanting to buy your items!

Our expectation of artisans is that you spread the word through whatever networks are available to you.  If you have a mailing list, let your customers know you'll be at MAC FAIR -  with this many awesome artisans, they won't want to miss it! Get on the Facebook group and invite all your local contacts.  Hand out VIP passes freely!

We look forward to another successful event!
